Industrial Project Manager – Capital Equipment | Heavy Mechanical Systems | Fabrication & Field Execution
$130,000 to $150,000 + Retirement
An established engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking an Industrial Project Manager to lead full-cycle delivery of complex industrial machinery and capital equipment. This role oversees heavy mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and large engineered assemblies from design through fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning. The work is centered on physical equipment, precision manufacturing, and coordinated field execution—not software or IT systems.
The position requires disciplined control of scope, budget, schedule, and technical performance across engineering, shop fabrication, and field installation phases. Projects involve high-value mechanical builds in heavy industrial environments with domestic and international site activity.
Key Responsibilities- Manage full project lifecycle for complex mechanical equipment and process systems from concept through commissioning
- Control scope, budget, and schedule for capital equipment projects involving rotating equipment and heavy mechanical assemblies
- Direct cross-functional teams including engineering, fabrication, quality, and field installation personnel
- Coordinate vendors, subcontractors, and customers throughout all phases of project execution
- Monitor cost performance, manage change orders, and enforce contractual and technical specifications
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards, safety requirements, and QA/QC protocols
- Oversee installation and commissioning activities at project sites
- Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally to support fabrication and field execution
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred - Minimum five years of project management experience supporting capital equipment, rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines), or complex mechanical process systems
- Demonstrated success managing budgets, schedules, vendors, and client relationships for heavy industrial mechanical builds
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver engineered systems from design through commissioning
- Strong organizational, leadership, and execution discipline in high-value industrial project environments
