Bilingual, Customer Service Rep, Event Manager / Planner, Recreation & Leisure
We’re looking for enthusiastic community members with leadership qualities who enjoy helping others, solving problems on the go, and creating memorable experiences for travelers. As a volunteer, you’ll act as the first point of contact for many passengers, contributing to a warm and welcoming terminal environment.

We offer a flexible schedule – you choose your shifts! Shift durations of 2 to 4 hours. The frequency of your shifts depends entirely on you availability and interest.
Required QualificationsRequirements:
• Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (dated within the past 6 months) from the RCMP
• Proficient in spoken English
• Bilingualism is a strong asset. Knowledge of other languages is also an asset.
• Must be comfortable with dogs
• Must be at least 18 years of age
Your Role Will Include:
• Greeting and welcoming passengers arriving at or departing from Saint John Airport
• Assisting travelers with mobility or directional needs from curbside to check-in, baggage drop, or security screening areas
• Answering frequently asked questions (FAQs) about flights, facilities, and services at the airport
• Providing way finding support and helping passengers navigate the terminal with confidence
• Accompanying Aerial, our in-training therapy service dog, who is becoming a familiar, friendly presence at the airport
• Promoting local tourism and community pride by sharing information about Saint John and the surrounding region
• Being a knowledgeable advocate for CYSJ staff, services, and the terminal experience
• Supporting special projects or seasonal programs (e.g., holiday passenger welcome events, school tours, charity initiatives), based on your interests and availability
All volunteers who join the program will participate in a comprehensive training and orientation series to ensure they feel confident and prepared in their role. Our training sessions are designed not only to provide practical knowledge of the terminal environment and passenger needs, but also to help volunteers develop valuable transferrable skills in customer service, problem-solving, aviation safety and leadership.
