Installation Technician
Midwest D-Vision Solutions (MWDS) and Midwest Commercial Interiors (MWCI) has been in business over 50 years, focusing on construction (MWDS) and commercial furniture (MWCI) installations. MWDS has divisions installing new glass and glazing, doors and hardware, and specialties (Division 9, 10, 12) for the general contractors. MWCI is the Steelcase dealer in Utah, selling and installing office furniture. This unique role combines technical expertise in some or all of these areas, and a strong sales acumen to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
We are NOT new to St George (we do a significant amount of work supported by our Salt Lake teams), but we are new to supporting St George with a local person.
This is an opportunity to launch a market, which may develop into a leadership role as the market develops further. You will be responsible for selling, installing, servicing, and maintaining commercial door and hardware automation solutions, ensuring clients receive both top-quality products and outstanding support.
Responsibilities Sales Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers in the commercial door and hardware automation market.
- Conduct site visits to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and product demonstrations.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales while meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair automated door systems, access control hardware, and related components.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Diagnose technical issues and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work performed.
- Provide technical training and support to customers as needed.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in commercial door hardware, automatic door systems, or related industry.

Skills:
Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting; familiarity with low-voltage wiring and access control systems. - Sales

Strong ability to identify customer needs, present solutions, and close deals. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a hybrid role.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- AAADM Certification (Automatic Door Technician)
- OSHA Safety Training
- Manufacturer-specific training for door automation systems
- Hybrid Role: Combination of fieldwork (installations, service calls) and office-based sales activities.
- Travel within assigned territory required.
- Competitive base salary ($60,000-$80,000) plus commission (to be determined). We are targeting total compensation of $100,000-$130,000 per year.
