The Vitamin/Body Care Assistant assists managers in operations and profitability of the vitamin and body care departments.

• Provide world-class customer service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority daily.

• Create inviting, full and shopable departments.
• Assist the department managers in ordering and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
• Assist the department managers in managing margin, driving sales, and overall department profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
• Ensure all in-stock products/conditions meet company standards.
• Offer and follow up on special orders.
• Merchandise shelves, endcaps and dynamic displays.
• Assist in managing as well as participate in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock.
• Assist in training and monitoring department personnel, including assigning and following up on tasks.
• Conduct active and passive demos.
• Work with department managers to address performance issues within the department.
• Support store opening and closing activities, including DSR, cash handling, and cashier closeout responsibilities.
• Handle register functions including backup cashiering, managing customer returns, addressing complaints, and covering register shift changes.
• Maintain the safety and security of customers and employees.
• Answer customer questions per company standards and policies, including Health Supportive Statements and statistical nutritional statements.
• Continuously increase product knowledge.
• Use SAP and inventory management software, email, and other IS programs as needed.
• Work a schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays; position requires five days, 40 hours per week and attendance at mandatory store meetings.
• This position has limited Manager on Duty but is not intended to be overall Manager on Duty for the store.

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of experience in grocery or retail environment preferred; natural foods background is a plus.
• 1 year of experience supervising others preferred.
• 1 year of experience in vitamins/supplements preferred.
• Ability to pass food safety training courses and maintain certifications as required by law.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused with the task at hand.
• Sense of urgency in completing tasks.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Ability to take direction and follow through.
• Must be cashier trained and able to count currency.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
