Customer Service Rep
MEAT/MEAT CUTTER – Kroger Mountain View Foods
Perform general product preparation, clean‑up, and stock work in the Meat department while providing customer service. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities- Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, processing, trimming, tenderizing, sealing, packaging, wrapping, bagging, pricing, prefabricating, dating, labeling, scaling, merchandising, selling, serving customers, and other functions in accordance with company policies.
- Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained.
- Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
- Check product quality; ensure it is rotated properly and remains fresh.
- Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers clean and well organized.
- Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and clutter‑free floor.
- Provide good customer and associate relations.
- Communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
- Unload trucks, sort orders, and place in proper cooler location.
- Wash and sanitize equipment in compliance with company and health department policies.
- Make a friendly impression on customers and greet them promptly and cheerfully.
- Increase store sales and profits in conjunction with retail operations and marketing programs.
- Behave in a prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional manner in all interactions.
- Adhere to company policies regarding a harassment‑free work environment.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults through direct interaction.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willing to work weekends and holidays.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
- Ability to work with cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate certain equipment.
- Team‑player in a fast‑paced environment.
- Calm handling of stressful situations; create a positive impression on associates and customers.
- Prior meat work experience or similar food preparation experience.
- Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
