Summary
The PA will be fully qualified and certified to function in a clinical role in accordance with the guidelines and policies of VASLCHCS. This individual is delegated the authority and responsibility to assume major clinical, consultative, educational, research, and administrative duties related to the examination of veterans seeking primary care at VASLCHCS.
Duties- The PA practices general internal medicine with a focus on outpatient clinical care.
- Approximately 90% of the PA's time is dedicated to developing and maintaining an interdisciplinary approach to the direct care of general medicine clinic patients.
- The PA independently follows their own panel of general internal medicine patients, functioning as their primary care provider.
- The primary care/gatekeeper role carries a high degree of responsibility and independence.
- The PA must possess excellent assessment skills and breadth of knowledge.
- The PA must be a highly effective communicator to negotiate with consultants at the VAMC regarding triaging of patients.

Work Schedule & BenefitsWork schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑4:30 pm. Compressed/flexible schedule may be authorized with supervisor approval. Telework and virtual options are not available. Relocation and recruitment incentives may be authorized for highly qualified applicants. Permanent Change of Station is not authorized. The PA is eligible for a comprehensive total rewards package.
