We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Demand Planner to coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and internal departments) according to production schedules.

This role will oversee departmental operations and be responsible for planning and execution of all materials. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs.
  • Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs.
  • Optimize inventory and implement process improvements.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and use prior experience to execute policy and strategy.
  • Understand key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish tasks.
  • Manage and report shop metrics (e.g., aged WIP).
  • Review performance against cycle time and coordinate with functional business units as needed.
  • Coordinate with the team on appropriate lot sizes to optimize production.
  • Identify min/max, backflush, and other material-system considerations on the production floor.
  • Coordinate efforts for inventory accuracy (e.g., cycle counts, floor items).
  • Maintain new work order requests and update existing demand on work orders.
  • Manage overall ERP functions related to work orders and materials tracking.
  • Conduct demand forecasting and Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to optimize inventory and supply strategies.
  • Manage data collection, develop predictive models, and ensure forecast accuracy across channels and SKUs.
  • Perform S&OP analysis to maintain high fill rates and efficient inventory turnover.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (in lieu of a degree a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience in Supply Chain).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
  • Advanced experience with ERP / MRP systems.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a materials or demand planner or in a similar role, preferably in the commercial or aerospace industries.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or other statistical software.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Experience with supply chain management systems and tools, such as ERP software or inventory management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to interpret technical data.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and build positive working relationships.
  • Knowledge of forecasting techniques, demand planning, and inventory optimization methodologies.
