Description:
Intensive instruction in archaeological field methods and acquisition of field skills, including archaeological search and survey, site mapping, laying out excavation grids, use of theodolites, total station, and GPS, strati graphic excavation, field recording, screening sediment, Ontario license and reporting requirements. Typically this course would take place on campus in the summer.

Sessional Lecturer I: $9,457.90
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $9,930.79
Sessional Lecturer II: $10,121.77
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,326.62
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,362.76
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $10,570.02
Note: Course is co-taught with a Unit 1 instructor. Rates stipulated in the collective agreement prevail if different.
Minimum Qualifications- MA in Anthropology required;
PhD preferred. Preference given to candidates within Archaeology. - Experience working as a field archaeologist in Ontario; crew supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated evidence of superior teaching required.
- Preference given to applicants with a P-license; R-license may be considered.
All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, including preparing the course outline, syllabus and lectures, delivering lectures, developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests & exams, holding regular office hours and supervising any assigned TA support. Additional duties beyond date of appointment may be required and will be compensated accordingly.
