Foreman – Low Voltage Division

Our client is expanding rapidly and looking to add to its growing team. You will be a valuable part of our Low Voltage Division where you will actively participate in leading crews and performing installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of low voltage projects across several commercial industries in the state of Utah and surrounding Intermountain Region. The basic function of the Foreman is to direct and coordinate field activities of cabling and installation projects, in a manner that meets prescribed company policies, procedures, and meets the profit goals of the company.

This foreman is expected to be a manager, a self-starting problem solver who can work independently, seeking advice only when necessary and able to work without direction.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Arrives at work on time and ready to work at the job site.
  • Ensures safety is the number one concern in all phases of work.
  • Acts as the voice and face of the company, representing it well through appearance, conversation, work ethics, and cleanliness of the work area.
  • Coaches, encourages, and trains employees to reach their full potential.
  • Provides clear and concise instructions to technicians to accomplish daily tasks, ensuring project success and profitability.
  • Calls the Project Manager by 2 PM to advise of labor availability or need for labor the next day and any additional parts and inventory needed to complete the project.
  • Has all required tools for technician and foreman duties as per company policy.
  • Uses Progressive Discipline and reports all infraction of company policy to the Project Manager in writing, detailing how each issue was handled.
  • Interprets and follows specifications, schematics, and job orders, fully understanding the scope of work before starting and conveying it to subordinates.
  • Demonstrates discretionary decision‑making on the job to improve quality, efficiency, or profitability for the customer and for the company, with flexibility to adapt when appropriate.
  • Is directly responsible for crew performance, including subcontractors, ensuring timely work and highest quality workmanship in a safe environment.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists others in solving work problems.
  • Ensures work complies with local codes.
  • Establishes and maintains a high level of job site performance through effective project management, efficient scheduling, delegation, and close coordination of material, equipment, and labor.
  • Enforces all company policies and procedures uniformly and ensures hourly time entry is prompt by everyone on the job.
  • Ensures all inventory transferred from the warehouse or van is applied to the job.
  • Ensures all requests for extra work are forwarded to the office, even when there is no cost change.
  • Maintains neat and clean job sites during projects and cleans them thoroughly at completion.
  • Loves maintaining a current set of specs and drawings on the job site.
  • Receives and checks in materials, packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping/receiving paperwork promptly, advising the office of shortages and noting them on the paperwork before signing.
  • Returns unused inventory to the shop promptly, labels it, and logs it for return and credit.
  • Attends post‑project meetings with the Management Team to evaluate performance and profitability.
  • Evaluates operations continuously to identify opportunities for cost‑effective improvements and methods to enhance efficiency.
  • Performs field measurements at the job site when necessary.
  • Ensures all tools, ladders, and equipment have the company name and are secured to prevent loss or theft.
  • Plans and coordinates tool and equipment needs to ensure availability.
  • Ensures proper use and maintenance of tools, returning them from the field promptly and noting any required repair or maintenance.
  • Keeps accurate records of all incidents or injuries, notifying the office immediately of any job site accidents or incidents and submitting written records promptly.
  • Notifies the Project Manager in advance of additional material needs for a project to minimize trips to supply houses.
  • Handles change orders in line with the company procedures.
