Position Title: Quality Specialist
Wage: $33.00 - $36.00/Hour
Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM
We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Quality Coordinator to support and strengthen our Quality Management System (QMS). This role blends hands on inspection work with system level quality oversight, document control, and internal auditing. The ideal candidate brings strong ISO 9001 experience, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to collaborate effectively across production, engineering, and management teams.
QualitySpecialist Responsibilities
- Perform routine shop floor inspections of parts, raw materials, components, and finished products
- Verify conformance to technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Conduct dimensional and functional testing using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools
- Maintain, coordinate, and improve the company's QMS
- Oversee the creation, revision, implementation, and control of quality procedures, templates, and work instructions
- Ensure quality documentation is properly managed, communicated, and adhered to throughout the organization
- Support and maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements
- Lead or participate in internal audits and assist with external audits
- Support training, readiness, and documentation efforts related to industry standards such as AISC
- Create and manage Nonconformance Reports (NCRs)
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action activities
- Work cross functionally to address, resolve, and prevent recurring quality issues
- Maintain calibration schedules and records for inspection and measurement tools
- Support compliance with calibration and traceability requirements
- Promote safe work practices in alignment with company safety policies
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency
- Participate in customer complaint investigations as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a technical discipline preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in a manufacturing environment
- Direct experience with ISO 9001:2015, including audits and document implementation/control
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with common measuring instruments and basic computer applications (e.g., Excel)
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and organization
- Experience conducting ISO 9001:2015 internal or external audits
- Background in steel fabrication, welding, machining, or large-scale custom assemblies
- Experience with AISC standards or certification programs
- Quality related certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
