Are you a hands‑on, people‑focused leader with a passion for reliability, safety, and continuous improvement? Wixon, a growing flavor and spice manufacturer in Southeast Wisconsin, is expanding our facilities—and we’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to help drive our success.

In this key leadership role, you’ll work alongside our Maintenance & Facilities Manager to oversee and elevate the daily operations of our maintenance team across multiple facilities. From proactive planning and scheduling to team development, safety leadership, and equipment reliability, your efforts will directly support Wixon’s growth, efficiency, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforces and maintains safety standards, policies, practices and procedures to comply with laws and regulations. Assists with the planning, development and implementation of safety procedures.
  • Schedules and assigns responsibilities for daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance departmental work for technicians and contractors to meet planned maintenance and production schedules, ensuring that the proper equipment is maintained and repaired, and P.M.'s are completed in a timely manner so that machinery availability is sustained. Fully utilizes the computerized maintenance management systems to manage the activities as well as to progress Reliability Centered Maintenance.
  • Liaison between maintenance and production. This includes communication prior to commencing work, ensuring customer satisfaction and developing training as needed to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Fully uses the computerized maintenance management systems to assess the state of equipment reliability and to define improvement opportunities. Able to extract reports relative to predictive/preventative maintenance, schedule compliance, cost, spare parts, backlog and work order management.
  • Prepares and reviews monthly reliability report which includes employee productivity, percentage of planned to reactive work, percentage of PM completed and reliability by area (Blending, Packaging, etc.) The report also includes the major issues and the plans to address them.
  • Directs the maintenance work force and provides on‑site expertise in troubleshooting and problem solving to add clarity for assigned tasks.
  • Supports the achievement of departmental goals for quality, safety, budget controls and maintaining maintenance management systems.
  • Evaluates productivity and ensures all work is accomplished in a safe, quality, efficient manner and cGMP's are followed.
  • Establishes, maintains and controls the maintenance budgets for operations departments maintenance and repair budgets.
  • Manages building and grounds for the sites within budget.
  • Supports various departments with process development and facility layout design.
  • Responsible for the purchase and inventory maintenance of spare parts, including the negotiation of contracts and analysis of potential cost savings.
  • Administers employee records such as time sheets, absences, tardy records, overtime and safety records as required.
  • Provide off‑hour supervision as required.
  • Effectively handles sensitive and difficult employee relations.
  • Effectively communicates at all levels in a leadership role.
  • Qualifications &

    Experience:
    • Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or another related field or equivalent preferred
    • 3-5 years’ experience supervising maintenance needs for multiple departments on a variety of shifts required.
    • Demonstrable planning and scheduling skills
    • Must be well versed in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    • Must be safety-oriented (OSHA 1910 versed), well organized and detail oriented
    • Planning and scheduling skills are a must
    • Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams
    • Good teamwork and oral/written communication skills are required
    • Must have good leadership skills in supervisory and project management roles.
    • Experience in food packaging or processing is highly desirable
