Compensation: $30-40/hr, based on experience

Job Summary

The Mold Maker / CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and programming CNC machines to produce high-precision parts and mold components. This role requires strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and program CNC machines including mills, lathes, and routers.
  • Perform precision machining to produce mold components and other parts.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
  • Load raw materials and tooling into machines and monitor machining operations.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure adherence to specifications and tolerances.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve machining processes.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and tight-tolerance work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical certification or vocational training in CNC machining.
  • Experience with CNC programming – Gibscam/Mastercam
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience working with various materials in mold making or precision manufacturing.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and machinery in a shop environment.
Work Location
  • On-site position at the St. Francis, WI facility.
