Compensation: $30-40/hr, based on experience
Job SummaryThe Mold Maker / CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and programming CNC machines to produce high-precision parts and mold components. This role requires strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and program CNC machines including mills, lathes, and routers.
- Perform precision machining to produce mold components and other parts.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
- Load raw materials and tooling into machines and monitor machining operations.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Maintain quality standards and ensure adherence to specifications and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve machining processes.
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tight-tolerance work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Technical certification or vocational training in CNC machining.
- Experience with CNC programming – Gibscam/Mastercam
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.
- Experience working with various materials in mold making or precision manufacturing.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and machinery in a shop environment.
- On-site position at the St. Francis, WI facility.
