Job SummaryThe Trailer Service Technician will service and maintain our fleet trailers that are operated on a daily basis.
Hours and Wages- Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑4:30 PM
- 10‑15 hours of overtime expected each week
- Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
- $20.00‑$33.00 per hour, based on experience
- Inspect trailers for compliance
- Service ABS brakes
- Knowledge of drum and disc brake systems is preferred
- Knowledge of trailer wiring, lighting, greasing, brakes, and lift gate is preferred
- General maintenance on fleet trailers
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred
- Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license or be willing to successfully complete Company paid CDL training program
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
- Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
- May involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other vehicle repair elements
