JOB SUMMARY
The Fire Suppression Specialist is responsible for the installation, inspection, servicing, and repair of Fire Extinguishers and Pre-Engineered Suppression Systems, ensuring safety and compliance with relevant standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES- Utilize various tools and test equipment to effectively repair or replace fire extinguishers and pre-engineered systems.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of NFPA codes, standards, and systems related to fire extinguishers and suppression systems.
- Troubleshoot defective components of suppression systems to maintain operational integrity.
- Repair or replace damaged components promptly to ensure safety and compliance.
- Engage with internal and external customers professionally and courteously.
- Adhere to punctuality, completing scheduled projects efficiently.
- Employ Field Service Lightning for tracking work orders, materials, and time management.
- Document work orders and service details accurately.
- Comply with safety protocols and participate in safety discussions and training sessions.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and well-maintained according to company policies.
- Stay updated on the latest industry advancements through training and seminars.
- Mentor and train service technician trainees in relevant job aspects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
The following qualifications are necessary to perform this role successfully:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred:
State or other relevant certifications.
- At least 2 years of experience in the Fire Suppression industry.
- Proficient computer skills for at least 2 years.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with employees and customers.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Must comply with company Drug and Alcohol Policy and Background screening requirements, including possible customer-specific requirements.
- Willingness to travel 20% of the time, which may require overnight stays.

Physical RequirementsThis role requires frequent bending, ascending and descending ladders, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs, sitting, stooping, twisting, and working at heights.
Work EnvironmentWork will often occur outdoors, exposing employees to varying temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, and noise. Occasionally, work will also be required indoors in an office environment. Employees must consistently wear the appropriate personal protective equipment as required by safety policies.
