Sky Water is partnering with an existing client in Central Minnesota on a Food Safety & Quality Manager search! Our client is a small food manufacturer who’s been consistently growing over the last few years (around 15%). The Food Safety & Quality Manager will oversee the day-to-day food safety and quality activities within the production facility, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal standards.
This role partners closely with operations to identify risks, initiate corrective actions, and continuously improve food safety & quality systems. It’s a permanent/direct hire opportunity with a well-known Minnesota food brand who’s looking for a strong FSQ Manager with aspirations to grow into a director level role in the future. - Conduct line audits and GMP inspections to verify proper ingredient use and procedural compliance.
- Lead and manage CAPA activities, including root cause analysis.
- Deliver ongoing food safety and GMP training across production teams.
- Manage product specifications and labeling compliance.
- Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality and food safety concerns.
- Lead internal audits and external supplier audits as needed.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Food Safety & Food Quality roles (or combination of roles).
- Experience working in a food production or similar regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, audits, regulatory requirements, and food safety systems.
- HACCP and/or PCQI certifications preferred.
