Job Details
DescriptionOverview:
Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.
- Prepares their workstation; transfers hangers from hanger rack to shirt or pant hanging aid.
- For shirts, flips hanger onto hanger aid, removes shirt from tub or table, dresses shirt on hanger, pulls sleeves out (if needed).
- For pants, removes pant from tub or table, grasps zipper end while stretching waistband, applies brisk shake to allow pant crease to fall in place, lays pant over hanger aid, advances hanger into slotted area, removes pant from hanging aid.
- Identifies any merchandise repairs not meeting quality standards (tears, holes, stains, ink spots, torn/worn labels/emblems, missing buttons) and applies twist tie to hanging item that needs repair.
- Ensures garment is placed on an open conveyor pick.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment and observes best practices in all production activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
- Working knowledge of basic math skills.
- Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule.
Work is performed in a warehouse setting and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold conditions, dust, and noise. Work is based on a shift schedule, may include weekends, and overtime is required as needed. Position involves repetitive motions throughout the shift; requires bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, and lifting; requires use of hands for grasping and other manipulations;
requires standing and walking for long periods.

EducationHigh school degree or equivalent preferred.

CompensationThe hourly rate for this position ranges from $13.22 to $19.81, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
