Overview
Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise entering and leaving the facility.
Key Responsibilities- Become familiar with the garment numbering system (GID) and the shipping schedule board.
- Follow the shipping schedule and separate garments into routes for specific sort areas (first, second, and third).
- Remove garments from the supply rail and place them on the appropriate conveyor or placard hook by route, by last man numbered (second sort), or by customer number (third sort).
- Hang all shirts of the same route before hanging all pants, and then proceed to the next batch/bar.
- Remove odd garments and place them in the correct space on the odd‑numbered garment bar.
- Inform the supervisor of any quality, mechanical, or shipping schedule problems.
- Watch the end of the supply bars for falling garments and re‑hang any that fall.
- Stop the line when jams or other problems occur further down the line and for breaks.
- Monitor garments for wrinkles and remove garments that do not meet specified quality standards (e.g., ink stains, tears, holes, missing buttons, or loose tags).
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe best practices in all production activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
- Working knowledge of basic math skills.
- Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet the attendance schedule.
- High school degree or equivalent preferred.
Work is performed in a warehouse setting and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise. The shift schedule may include weekends, and overtime is required as needed. The position involves repetitive motions over the duration of an entire shift; requires continuous reaching at shoulder and/or overhead level; requires the use of hands for grasping and other manipulations;
requires standing and walking for long periods of time.

CompensationThe hourly rate for this position ranges from $13.22–$19.81, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
