Physician Assistant - Urgent Care

St. Cloud VA Health Care System is seeking a part-time (20 hrs/week) Urgent Care Physician Assistant to care for Veterans in St. Cloud, MN. • The Urgent Care Physician Assistant (PA) position is within the Primary and Specialty Medicine Service Line.
• Provide chronic disease management, preventative health care, and evaluation of episodic acute illness for a predominantly male population.
• As an Urgent Care provider, participate in daily huddles with other team members and participate in Urgent Care systems redesign projects.
• Provide consultative care as well as Specialty Care management and follow-up to patients referred to the practice.
• Deliver clinical care for patients, including management of acute and chronic conditions, medication management, preventative care (if appropriate), management of clinical reminders and clinical alerts, and other patient needs.
• Assist with coverage of other Urgent Care providers at the facility as needed due to absences or workload.
• Participate in peer review of other Urgent Care providers through periodic chart reviews in collaboration with VISN needs.
• Attend Urgent Care staff meetings, departmental meetings, and medical staff meetings regularly.
• Provide timely documentation (notes and encounter forms) in all areas in accordance with facility policy.
• Complete administrative work in a timely fashion and work within privileges at all times, following Medical Bylaws.
• Follow VHA directives and facility MCPs and SOPs.
