Medical Lab Technician or Medical Lab Scientist

Laboratory professionals are key members of today’s health care team, and quality medical care depends on them. Every day, nurses, physicians, and other medical workers rely on laboratory professionals to perform tests on body fluids and tissue samples, interpret the results and help provide a complete picture of a patient’s health. Without this precise and valuable information, medicine would simply be guesswork.

This position is a generalist position working in multiple areas of the laboratory including chemistry, hematology and either microbiology or transfusion services.

• Part-time | 32 hours every two weeks | Onsite
• Days and Evenings | 8.5 hour shifts | Days start 5-7am | Evenings start Noon-2:30pm
• Every other weekend and rotating holidays

• MLT starting pay begins at $25.09 per hour and increases with experience
  • Pay range: $24.21 - $36.35 per hour
• MLS starting pay begins at $33.61 per hour and increases with experience
  • Pay range: $30.65 - $45.98 per hour

• MLT
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree from an accredited Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technician (CLT / MLT) program. New Graduate’s degree must be validated within 2 months post-graduation.
  • ASCP-BOC certified within 6 months with first exam completed within 3 months of hire, with certification verified within six weeks of exam.
  • Recent experience of one or more years in large acute care facility preferred.
  • Transportation available for off campus laboratory related activities may be required.
  • A valid Minnesota driver’s license, a driving record in good standing, and the minimum amount of insurance liability coverage may be required.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree with necessary science/math credits as required and verified by the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC). New graduate’s degree must be validated within 2 months post-graduation.
  • ASCP-BOC certified within 6 months with first exam completed within 3 months of hire, with certification verified within six weeks of exam.
  • Recent experience of two or more years in large acute care facility preferred.
  • Transportation available for off campus laboratory related activities may be required.
  • A valid Minnesota driver’s license, a driving record in good standing, and the minimum amount of insurance liability coverage may be required.

To be eligible for the hiring bonus, student loan repayment or relocation bonus, you must be an external candidate who is hired into an eligible full time or part time benefited position. Previous Centra Care employees qualify if they have not worked for Centra Care for at least 9 months at the date of hire. Centra Care hiring incentives to include but not limited to, hiring and relocation bonuses may be discontinued at any time.

Relocation bonus must meet distance requirements. Full-time or Part-time status may impact bonus amount.
