CLA is excited to invite applications for a Financial Services Tax Principal or Signing Director
. This role is perfect for an experienced tax professional who is ready to lead within the industry, focusing on client advisory, service advocacy, and relationship development.
- Be a pivotal leader within a team of tax and industry professionals, providing tax advisory and consulting services while mentoring team members to develop a profound understanding of client businesses and fulfilling their unique needs.
- Assume the crucial role of industry tax leader for our financial services group, reporting directly to the Managing Principal of Industry to drive the growth of the tax practice nationwide.
- Lead and manage tax engagements for a diverse range of financial services clients, including banks, insurance companies, investment funds, and specialty finance entities.
- Take full ownership of all services for clients within your book of business.
- Effectively develop new business opportunities and expand services for existing clients.
- Review and sign engagement letters, engaging in discussions regarding the nature and terms of assignments with clients and staff, and approving fees.
- Review and authorize work papers and tax returns prepared by the team.
- Review and sign off on client deliverables, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Stay current with changes in tax law to provide informed and up-to-date counsel.
- Show unwavering commitment to the firm by dedicating time and effort to enhancing the practice.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field.
- Valid CPA license is required (JD or EA may be accepted in lieu of CPA).
- A minimum of 10 years of public accounting experience in a tax role within a public accounting or professional services firm.
- A thorough understanding of tax issues impacting banks, insurance companies, investment funds, and specialty finance entities.
- Strong technical expertise in ASC 740, partnership taxation, REITs, and financial instruments.
At CLA, we value collaboration and career growth, offering competitive wages as an investment in our people. In Minnesota, the compensation range for this position is $145,000 - $350,000
, and in Illinois, it is $145,000 - $300,000
.
