Yes, up to 50% of the time - Salary Range: $69.80 – $102.81 hourly; $145,742 – $214,667 annually
- Takes dental histories of all patients upon admission in order to determine extent of care needed.
- Examines patients and administers tests so that dental malfunctions are discovered.
- Performs oral surgery as required to remedy dental malfunctions.
- Instructs dental assistants so that oral care can be provided to the patient.
- Orders laboratory examinations and analysis, x‑rays, and specific medication so that complete dental care is provided.
- Keeps records and makes reports to document patients’ dental progress.
- Supervises qualified dental staff to deliver efficient service to patients.
- Current licensure from the Minnesota Board of Dentistry to practice dentistry in Minnesota.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of general dentistry.
- Skill in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of dental diseases and injuries.
- Knowledge of recent developments in general dentistry and the characteristics and usages of modern drugs.
- Ability to establish and maintain a dental clinic environment.
- Ability to provide leadership with incarcerated individuals.
- Ability to supervise dental assistants and dental therapists in clinical practice.

Candidate screening may include criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations, and background checks per Department of Corrections policy. Top candidates must pass a criminal history check and prove completion of sentencing or restitution. Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted. New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
