Job Description:
Licensed Practical Nurse - , (260000YH). This is a reposting. If you previously applied, you must re-apply to be considered. There are two positions available. Starting pay is approximately $58,000 based on shift assignments. Ohio has joined the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC); LPNs may hold a multistate license in their primary state of residence while practicing in other compact states.
Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care as directed
- Documents patient-related care timely within the electronic health record
- Maintain patient medical records
- Administers medication, including oral and intramuscular medications; may administer intravenous therapy if certified
- Performs treatments
- Assists with Doctor’s Sick Call
- Assists with chronic care clinics management
- Participates in patient care planning and treatment team activities
- Responds to emergencies
- Provides emergency care and collection of patient data
- Collects vital signs and timely documents all findings
- Collects urine and/or other body fluid specimens
- May perform venipuncture for laboratory samples
- Prepares patients for release and/or transfer by reviewing patient care and completing transfer/summaries
- Ensures discharge medication orders are completed and forwarded to pharmacy services
- Participates in training and institution training exercises
- Provides assistance to other healthcare staff
- Investigates and documents problem areas and/or areas of concern
- Reviews shift reports
- Assists physicians with medical procedures
- Assumes duties of other nurses during absences
- Provides nursing support to assistive personnel
- Provides patient education regarding healthcare maintenance and prevention of disease
- Participates in continuous quality improvement activities
- Schedules multidisciplinary team meetings
- Performs inventory and ordering of medical supplies
- Assists ancillary staff as needed to ensure patient care needs are met
- Overtime may be required
License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code; MDS certification issued by ANNAC (American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination).
