Job SummaryThe Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the JV volleyball team. This includes planning and conducting practices, teaching fundamental skills, promoting sportsmanship, and supporting the overall goals of the volleyball program. The coach will work closely with the head varsity coach and athletic department to ensure a cohesive and successful program.
Job Responsibilities- Plan and lead daily practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
- Coach all scheduled JV games and attend team events.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment for student-athletes.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of team members during tryouts.
- Support the varsity program by attending meetings, helping with logistics, and promoting athlete development for higher levels.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and competitions.
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper use of facilities.
- Previous experience coaching volleyball, preferably at the high school or club level.
- Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and coaching strategies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must meet all school and district coaching requirements, including background checks.
