Our coaches are the best‑trained in the business and our expert‑approved curriculum is age‑appropriate and aligns with childhood education standards. THE JOB
- Bring “Soccer Island” alive with enthusiasm and creativity in delivering Soccer Shots lesson plans and seasonal curriculum.
- Conduct soccer classes for children 2 to 8 years old, including field set‑up and take‑down at preschools, school partners, area parks, and other community venues.
- Encourage character development through positive reinforcement and modeling.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment by following all safety and quality protocols.
- Communicate effectively with staff, families, caregivers, and teachers.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
- Seasonal, part‑time coaches for the Spring 2026 season with opportunity to work multiple seasons.
- Recruitment to be completed by mid‑February; field training by early March 2026.
- Typical work: 4‑20 hours per week during March‑November outdoor season.
- Location priority:
Wentzville/O’Fallon, St. Charles, Creve Coeur, Ballwin, Oakville, Tower Grove Park vicinity. - Typical hours Monday‑Friday 8:00‑12:00 a.m. or Monday‑Thursday 5:00‑7:00 p.m.;
Saturday mornings 8:45‑11:45 a.m. preferred, occasional afternoon shifts. - Uniforms, on‑field equipment, and comprehensive training provided.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Confidently competent with experience engaging children 2‑8; soccer or team sport background preferred.
- Patience, imagination, and a stellar silly face.
- Empathetic—known for engaging with children through positive affirmations.
- Committed to safety and health of participants.
- Learning mindset and professional development motivation.
- Responsible, organized, and timely with a team‑first attitude.
- Professional communicator, constructive feedback.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Reliable transportation and active mobile phone with data plan.
- Pass a Child Abuse History Clearance, Background Check, and complete fingerprinting through MOVECHS.
- Physical ability to stand, jog, model children’s soccer skills.
- Minimum age 18 for school‑based locations.
