Overview
The Director of Chain Accounts will direct the sale of products and services to assigned Chain accounts through KAMs and District Managers. This role will control the execution of sales plans and sales promotions to ensure the achievement of assigned sales goals.
Primary Responsibilities- Ensure the attainment of sales and profit goals for the assigned chain account through the regular evaluation of vendor/partner relationships, new business opportunities, and voids in present sales/service levels
- Supervise the activities of assigned accounts to ensure maximum sales and profits; coach, direct, counsel team members on overall performance; define expectations and monitors progress
- Conduct team meetings with Chain and District Managers;
Introduce new products and services to Chain Buyers;
Present new promotions/programs to Chain Buyers;
Provide a summary of current/projected sales activity for the assigned chain;
Provide regular/special reports detailing the measurement of results compared to assigned sales objectives - Conduct regular business reviews with Chain Buyer;
Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement - Meet with Spirit VP s regularly to review results and prioritize selling initiatives
- Recommend to Chain Buyer products by size for in-store and newspaper advertising support
- Propose and remedy pricing on key product/size to ensure the attainment of sales objectives with a chain retailer
- Recommend inventory levels necessary to support unusual chain sales plans
- Work in conjunction with Trade Development/ Category Management team to ensure brands have an adequate shelf and merchandising space;
Look for an opportunity to improve positioning on KEY brands based on trends and volume - Work in conjunction with Operations to ensure adequate service levels are in place for customer and reasonable expectations are set for SGWS;
Communication between customer and SGWS is critical to accomplish success;
Internal alignment of all divisions on delivery timing - Monitor EDI buys to ensure goods are billed and proper material #s is in place to prevent OOS situations;
Monitor proper YCHN discounts are in place to minimize credit requests from the customer;
Credit reconciliation to be done in a timely manner - Execute and compile ONE pricing book per month to the customer as requested
- Investigate & Implement SGWS opportunity for PL/Preferred brands
- Ability to travel: (40%-60%) by automobile (may involve driving distances of up to 100 miles and periodic travel out of state)
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree and seven years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills
- Experience in selling alcoholic beverages or grocery products at the retail level
- Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
- Ability to secure and maintain auto-liability insurance in accordance with state laws
- Ability to secure and maintain a State Sales Permit in accordance with state laws
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or mobile device
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 25lbs
