Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Missouri or compact state

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required before first shift

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required before first shift

• Minimum two (2) years of recent bedside clinical experience in Med/Surg or acute care

• ICU experience and skills appropriate for LTACH (Long-Term Acute Care Hospital) preferred
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission

• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans with the healthcare team

• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR

• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning

• Communicate changes in patient status to physicians and charge nurses for optimal care

• Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff

• Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital safety protocols

• Support a positive, team-oriented work environment

• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation

• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
