Overview

MO Health Net / Long-Term Care Medicaid Applications We’re looking for a detail-oriented, compassionate, and highly organized Social Worker / Medicaid Eligibility Specialist to handle long-term-care Medicaid (MO Health Net) eligibility for families navigating some of the most stressful moments of their lives. This role focuses on preparing, submitting, and following through on Medicaid applications—from intake through approval—while working closely with clients, care facilities, and state agencies.

This is NOT a government caseworker position. This is a client-focused role inside a private elder law firm, where you’ll have the time, support, and systems to do the work correctly—without crushing caseloads, political pressure, or burnout.

This position is ideal for professionals with hands-on Missouri Medicaid eligibility experience, including:

• Current or former DSS / FSD Eligibility Specialists
• Income Maintenance Caseworkers
• Hospital-based Medicaid Eligibility Workers
• Skilled Nursing Facility Admissions or Medicaid Coordinators
• Elder Law Firm Legal Assistants or Paralegals
• Social Workers who regularly handled MO Health Net long-term care applications

• Prepare, submit, and manage MO Health Net / Medicaid long-term-care applications
• Review client income, assets, bank statements, deeds, and financial documents
• Communicate with DSS caseworkers and follow up on application status
• Guide families through spend-down rules, asset documentation, and required verifications
• Maintain accurate case notes and workflow within our systems
• Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and funding coordinators
• Provide updates to clients and explain Medicaid eligibility requirements in simple, understandable terms
• Track deadlines, respond to Requests for Information (RFI), and support clients through the approval process

Required:
Hands-on Missouri Medicaid eligibility experience • (MO Health Net preferred; LTC experience strongly preferred)
