** POSITION SUMMARY
** We are currently seeking a
** Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator**. The EHS Coordinator will provide environmental health and safety oversight to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
** ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Oversee the reporting, investigation, and documentation of all accidents and near miss incidents, following up with site leadership on these incidents to determine effective corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
* Conduct EHS audits on a routine basis to ensure compliance to company and regulatory requirements and initiate and verify corrective actions from findings.
* Investigate or oversee investigations of environmental incidents, such as spills or accidental releases to ensure that a root cause for the incident is identified and an effective corrective action is implemented and maintained.
* Perform environmental audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Sonaca North America Management system.
* Make recommendations and work with appropriate agency for analysis air, water, and other media samples to test levels of chemicals and/or hazardous waste.
* Ensure that all environmental permits and reporting are completed and up to date for the facility. This may include completing the reports and doing the filings personally. This will require staying current on all federal, state, and local regulations, and taking appropriate action when regulations change, or new regulations are implemented.
* Assesses the impact of emerging environmental issues, legislation, and regulations on facility operations, and share potential issues with GM. Review monthly/quarterly wastewater reports.
* Develop and provide training at the facility on environmental regulations and safety affairs.
* Prepare and present monthly safety metrics such as TRIR, DART, Lost time injury, Near-miss and past Due Corrective actions.
* Lead and facilitate all Safety team meetings.
* Maintain local site EHS SharePoint page.
* Drive all DOT regulations and requirements and ensure all driver personnel meet mandatory requirements.
* Coordinate and administer all employee EHS training, as required.
* Administer SDS maintenance requirements and assist with chemical information requests.
* Organize and maintain occupational exposure and industrial hygiene programs on an annual basis, making sure that compliance is being always met.
* Manage hazardous waste within the organization facilitates hazardous waste pickups, maintains hazardous waste shipping records to prepare and submit quarterly and biennial hazardous waste generator reports.
* Perform duties requested by Supervisor.
** EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES
*** Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline.
* Minimum three years of EHS experience.
* Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, chemicals, and chemical processes to develop, implement, and regulatory development processes.
* Working Knowledge in Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
* Must have knowledge of EHS regulations, issues, procedures, processes, reporting requirements, and other compliance requirements with federal, state, and local legislation governing the environment.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills which includes Presentation skills at every level of the organization.
* Must exhibit ability to troubleshoot and correct problems using problem-solving skills.
* Must be able to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and interact professionally with co-workers and vendors, understands internal customers, and strives to maintain good relations in a matrix organization.
