Sts Joachim and Ann Catholic Church, St Charles is seeking responsible, faith-filled, and flexible Substitute Teachers to support our learning community as needed. The ideal candidate is committed to maintaining a structured, positive, and Christ-centered classroom environment while ensuring continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular teacher.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Substitute Teacher will implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher, supervise students, and uphold the academic and behavioral expectations of the school. Responsibilities include facilitating learning activities, managing classroom behavior in accordance with school policies, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
The successful candidate will model Christian values in word and action, foster a respectful classroom atmosphere, and support the mission of Catholic education. Substitute Teachers are expected to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and effective communication with school staff and administration.
Flexibility to work across grade levels and subject areas is preferred. Participation in school prayer and adherence to diocesan policies, including safe environment requirements, are essential.
Job Requirements- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Valid state teaching certification (preferred; may be required per diocesan guidelines)
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting (preferred)
- Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
- Successful completion of required background checks and diocesan safe environment training
