Big Smiles Missouri, a school-based mobile dental practice, is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist in St. Charles, MO and surrounding areas to help provide dental care to underserved children at their school. The program ends the workday with the school day and does not require nights or weekends, offering a diverse and different working environment for working parents and others who want to make a difference in the dental field.

• Assist with oral health management of all patients; be a team player at all times
• Verify patient identity using name and date of birth prior to administering treatment; place initials on the medical chart to indicate verification
• Obtain oral health assessment of each patient (new baseline; follow-up)
• Review medical history and other pertinent oral health information
• Provide oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant application and fluoride application in line with accepted best practices
• Provide dental assistance as directed by the dentist
• Provide oral health education and individual counseling to each patient (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing)
• Document provided dental services on the patient’s chart
• Daily travel to and from school sites

• Must hold active RDH license
• Working experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist
• Valid driver license, reliable transportation and willingness to travel to schools across counties
• Works well with others (both children and adults)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Current CPR (BLS) certification

• Evenings, weekends and summers off
• School day schedule (about 6 - 7 hours); typically between 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
