Machine Operator - Cartons

Location

St. Charles

Compensation Includes

• Pay Range $21.41/hr - $26.77/hr
• 1.50 shift differential for the 3rd shift

Available Shift

• 3rd: 11:00pm - 7:00am

• Performs minor repairs during production
• Performs daily and weekly machine maintenance
• Conducts quality checks at regular intervals and takes corrective action to fix defects
• Make appropriate adjustments or repairs to ensure carton quality meets specifications and machines operate properly
• Assist Operators in troubleshooting complex problems on their machines
• Communicate with the operator from the previous and following shifts to review problems with machines
• Communicate with supervisor to determine priorities for the day and identify changeovers or other special directions
• Communicate production information to crew members
• Perform purge procedures when changing to a new product and complete required checklists
• Covers breaks for feeders and packers in zone
• Supply correct corrugate, bags and other supplies matching the job jacket; ensure components are available for packers
• Complete appropriate end-of-shift paperwork, accounting for crewing time, machine time, and production quantities
• Read and understand job jackets to ensure machines are set up and production runs according to specifications
• Complete quality paperwork hour by hour
• Follow LOTO and alternative LOTO procedures
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Properly adjust machine settings to follow Standard Line Conditions
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Enter daily production data on PC and record adjustments made to machines

• 2 years related experience
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
