General Position Description and PurposeIndividuals will perform advanced machinist operations on CNC and manual mills, CNC and manual lathes and various other machine shop equipment as necessary to produce a quality product. They will support the Corporate Quality Policy and using TQM concepts, principles and tools, will make continuous improvements in the work process.
Position FunctionsListed below are typical functions performed in this position. This description should not be construed to contain every function / responsibility that may be required to be performed by the individual in this position.
Primary Functions- Perform complex setups on CNC equipment.
- Edit basic CNC programs.
- Optimize CNC machine time.
- Use boring heads, grooving tools, reamers, threading (internal and external) and machining tapers.
- Diagnose, analyze, and correct basic CNC programs and set ups.
- Basic knowledge of Mastercam software
- Calculate speeds and feeds.
- Clean and deburr parts.
- Perform basic maintenance on machines including minor repairs, adjustments to oils and coolant levels to ensure correct concentration (check with a refractometer) check and clean or replace all filters on machine as needed.
- Must be able to perform all the tasks listed in the Machinist job description.
- Assist in training of personnel on equipment operations.

Minimum
Education Requirements:
High School diploma. Two years college technical training or equivalent.
Minimum Experience Requirements: 5 years’ experience running and setting up cnc lathe and mills. Perform basic math skills including but not limited to Algebraic and Trigonometry.
