Litigation Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our personal injury team. At Meyers & Flowers, our clients are our top priority, and we are committed to making a meaningful difference in the fight for justice.

An ideal candidate is a self- motivated person that is confident working independently as well as in a team environment and able to provide administrative support to trial attorneys. This
full-time position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to anticipate litigation needs of a case in all stages of litigation.

As our Litigation Paralegal, you will be responsible for state and federal filings, docketing deadlines, preparing discovery, drafting correspondence, scheduling depositions, and client communications. Our team is looking for our newest addition to have a positive attitude and understand that the term “paralegal” also means the ability to perform under pressure while still knowing how to laugh when the day does not go as planned.

Key Responsibilities

As a Litigation Paralegal at Meyers & Flowers, you will:

  • E-file in state and federal courts.
  • Review, organize, and summarize reports and other case materials.
  • Prepare summons and complaints, answers to interrogatories, factsheets, exhibit lists, subpoenas and supporting materials for filing with the court.
  • Assist in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, and trial preparation.
  • Request necessary documents from clients to determine status of files.
  • Manage high volume of client calls, local counsel communications, and follow-ups to meet strict deadlines across multiple cases in different jurisdictions.
  • Work with attorneys and support staff to guide clients through their case and provide an exceptional level of customer service.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and maintain itineraries.
What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking candidates who:

  • Have2+ years of litigation and trial experience
    , preferably in plaintiff’s personal injury law firm. Experience supporting mass torts is highly desired.
  • Are proficient in e-filing in state and federal courts.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree or have completed an
    ABA-approved paralegal certificate program
    (preferred but not required).
  • Are proficient in computer skills with the ability to adapt to a variety of systems, including Needles, Tabs, Microsoft Office, Westlaw, Docu Sign, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Can learn quickly and be a problem solver who takes the initiative to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excel in time management, critical thinking, and maintaining a high degree of organization.
  • Able to maintain a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.

Schedule

Our office hours are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
, with a dedicated lunch hour. This is a
full-time position
, expected to work
40 hours per week
