Senior Recruiter at Sterling EngineeringOur client, a global manufacturing organization, is seeking to add an Applications Engineer to its engineering team to support the design, development, and application of advanced hydraulic solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in hydraulics, fluid power, or electro-hydraulic systems who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, sales, and customer applications.
This position offers high visibility across customers, internal engineering, manufacturing, and global teams. The Applications Engineer will play a critical role in translating customer requirements into engineered solutions while supporting both existing and new product applications within a highly technical manufacturing environment. Salary is 100-120k.

- Serve as a technical liaison between customers, sales, and internal engineering teams to support hydraulic system and component applications
- Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate hydraulic solutions, including valves, manifolds, and electro-hydraulic components
- Provide technical support during the pre-sales and post-sales process, including application reviews, troubleshooting, and optimization
- Assist with the design and customization of hydraulic circuits and systems to meet performance, efficiency, and cost objectives
- Support product development by providing application feedback, testing input, and field performance data
- Prepare technical documentation, application notes, specifications, and presentations for internal and external use
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance, application efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fluid Power Engineering, or a related discipline
- 3–7+ years of experience in applications engineering, hydraulic systems, or fluid power environments
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic circuits, valves, manifolds, and electro-hydraulic controls
- Experience supporting customer-facing engineering or technical sales functions
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings
- Familiarity with CAD tools and hydraulic simulation software preferred
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, manufacturing and customer-driven environment - Willingness to collaborate across global teams and support customer needs as required
