Located in Saint Augustine, Florida, Rulon International the leading manufacturer of Custom High End Wood Ceilings, Walls, and Engineered Polymer Ceiling and Canopy systems, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager. Rulon custom made products are specified, manufactured, and installed on the most unique and prominent projects across North America, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Custom Wood Ceiling and Wall Manufacturer Quality Assurance Manager position.

This role ensures the highest quality in custom wood ceiling and wall manufacturing projects, from initial release to manufacturing order to final product inspection, adhering to specifications and company standards. The Quality Assurance Manager will work closely with engineering, production, and packaging teams to identify and resolve quality issues, ultimately contributing to customer satisfaction and the company's reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing purchase orders:
    Thoroughly understand the requirements for each custom project, including dimensions, materials, finishes, and specific design details.
  • Conducting regular quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process:
    This includes inspecting raw materials for defects, monitoring each stage of production to ensure adherence to standards and procedures, and verifying correct assembly and finishing techniques.
  • Verifying dimensions and other specifications.
  • Assessing the quality of finishes:
    Performing visual and tactile inspections to ensure consistency, smoothness, and the absence of defects like knots, cracks, blemishes, or unevenness in the final finish, as well as color matching the approved color control sample.
  • Documenting inspection results and maintaining accurate records:
    Completing detailed inspection reports, checklists, and non-conformance reports, and communicating findings to company leadership.
  • Collaborating with production and design teams to identify and resolve quality issues:
    Participating in root cause analysis of defects, proposing solutions, and working together to implement corrective actions and improve processes.
  • Developing and implementing quality control procedures and guidelines:
    Contributing to the continuous improvement of quality assurance processes, including developing new inspection methods and training programs for production staff.
Qualifications
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing or production environment, specifically in custom woodworking or millwork.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Strong understanding of quality control processes and methodologies; ability to read and interpret purchase orders, technical documents, and specifications; proficiency in using quality control tools and equipment, including calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Soft Skills:

    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to improve quality and process performance; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team;

    proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement; proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they escape.
  • Educational background:
    High school diploma or equivalent is typically required, with a preference for vocational training or an associate's degree in a related field like carpentry or manufacturing.
