Title

- Bachelors Degree in related field
- 3+ years related experience
- Complete understanding of differentiated instructional strategies across the curriculum
- Thorough understanding of the college admissions, scholarship, and financial aid processes
- Experience in counseling students who have accommodation plans
- Knowledge in providing faculty with resources to support students with different learning abilities
- Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Perceptive intuition and decision-making skills
- Understands the mission of the school and promote the Augustinian values of VERITAS (Truth), UNITAS (Unity) and CARITAS (Love).
- Displays the highest level of ethical and professional behavior and standards.
- Support for the school’s Inclusion Initiative.
- Develop and write student accommodation/learning plans with long-term goals and specific objectives.
- Provide regular written student-progress reports to the school and parents with assessment results and recommendations of diagnostic testing and remedial programs for learning-related issues.
- Provide individual academic support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve study skills, organization, time management, and self-advocacy.
- Coordinate with the local school district to effectively use IDEA funds and other resources available from the State Department of Education.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement accommodations and differentiated instruction.
- Act as a student advocate, ensuring their needs and well-being are met within the school system and community.
- Monitor student progress and maintain communication with families regarding learning support.
- Create workshops and resources to promote academic skills development.
- Manage a reduced caseload of students, providing strategies, advice, support, and guidance to those students and their families throughout the application process and in making the best individualized choice for college.
- Help students identify their strengths, interests, and abilities, and guide them in setting academic and career goals. This includes assisting with college applications, scholarship searches, and exploration of vocational paths.
- Provide individual and group counseling to address personal, social, emotional, and behavioral issues. They also provide crisis intervention and may refer students to external mental health professionals when necessary.
