Job Description Evangelism and Missions

• Experience in support of, and involvement with local/regional/international Christian Ministries.
• Passion for evangelism and willingness to participate in SAEBC’s evangelistic activities as well as other local, regional, and international groups that SAEBC supports.
• Willing to preach at other churches.

• Mentors and provides opportunities for individuals, couples, families and/or groups to develop wholesome, godly relationships.
• Capable of providing biblically-sound counselling support to individuals, couples and families within SAEBC.
• Connects with and shows empathy, understanding and concern for others of all age groups through the different phases of their lives.
• Relational pastor with whom persons of all age groups, academic and economic levels feel comfortable communicating.
• Concerned about, and able to minister to, the more vulnerable in our community (e.g., elderly, shut-ins, the unsaved, youths, widows).

St. Augustine Evangelical Bible Church (SAEBC) (), is seeking a full-time Pastor.

• Be a servant leader – He should demonstrate moral motives, thoughts, and behaviours produced by a life surrendered to and led by the Holy Spirit, thereby cultivating the attributes and life of Christ.
• Agree with and practice plurality of leadership, in terms of pulpit ministry and decision-making.
• Willingly develops, articulates and demonstrates a clear and compelling vision and strategic direction for the church in collaboration with other members of the board and in keeping with SAEBC’s overall vision, and leads or assists in their implementation.
• Strong leader who works well with others, yet is willing and able to make clear, decisive and tough decisions.
• Maintains SAEBC’s core values and supports the leaders in charge of various ministries in the implementation of plans for growth, discipleship, missions, and community outreach.
• Motivational person who can equip and encourage the staff, ministry leaders and the congregation to set and accomplish priorities.
• Willing learner who values personal growth and professional development.

• A person who has received theological training from a reputable institution that is closely aligned to the church’s doctrinal beliefs.
• A person with at least a bachelor’s degree and who is able to comfortably associate with and minister to persons at any academic level.

• A transformational, gifted preacher whose sermons apply biblical teaching to everyday life and challenge the congregation to aim towards spiritual growth and maturity.
• A strong theologian, whose theology is in line with SAEBC’s theology, and who can defend the faith. This should be reflected through a continuous study of the word, as well as a prayerful and deeply spiritual life.
• By his example, he encourages the church to prioritize corporate and individual worship.
• Someone who is able to accurately and faithfully interpret and communicate Scripture.
• Someone who models biblical preaching and trains and nurtures developing leaders.
