DescriptionNMC is currently recruiting for our ASPIRE RN Residency Program. We have up to 10 slots in the program. These RN positions are full‑time positions. Initial training occurs on day shift and then in 24/7 departments the position morphs into a night shift position (hours are generally 7 p‑7:30 a and every other weekend). Opportunities are available in the Operating Room and the Medical Surgical Unit.

Registered Nurse
JOB SUMMARY: The RN plans and implements nursing care for patients, according to established policies and procedures while performing direct patient care for patients of all age groups and under a wide variety of circumstances.
PrerequisitesEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Vermont
Certifications
Required:
BLS, ACLS required
Reports To: Nurse Manager
Other Contacts: Shift administrator, physicians, patients, families, visitors, public, forensic staff, hospital staff, and other healthcare practitioners
ScopeMachinery or Equipment Used: Patient monitoring devices, cast removal saw, IV pumps, patient transport devices, needles/syringes, computer, basic office equipment, and other patient care equipment
Physical DemandsPhysical Demands: Occasional sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching, and awkward positions. Frequent twisting, bending, squatting, stooping, reaching and pushing/pulling. Constant standing and walking
Working ConditionsWorking Conditions: Exposure to crisis situations and unpleasant elements of acute traumatic injuries, accidents and illness. Frequently exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases. Exposed to hazards from electrical equipment. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours and stress/pressure due to multiple patient needs
