Overview
NMC is currently recruiting a RN in Ambulatory Surgery. The position is full-time (80 hours bi-weekly), generally M-F 8a-4:30p.

Job SummaryThe RN provides safe nursing care in a timely manner to patients on the assigned unit with a high degree of independence. Functions within the scope of a RN as defined by the Vermont State Board of Nursing and frequently acts as charge nurse.
Pre-requisitesEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or enrolled in an accredited Direct Entry to Master of Science in Nursing Program with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Vermont (VT RN license or Compact State RN)
Experience: Perioperative and critical care experience preferred. If no prior critical care experience, a critical care course must be completed during orientation.
Certifications
Required:
ACLS and PALS required if trained to phase 1 (PACU). BLS required for all Ambulatory RNs. IV certification required.
Reports To: Director Surgical Services
Other Contacts: Charge nurse, providers and their staff, shift administrator, patients and their families/visitors, hospital staff, public, and other health care/community agencies
Scope and EquipmentMachinery or Equipment Used: All office and patient care equipment
Physical Demands: Lifts, positions and/or transfers patients; pushes, moves and lifts heavy equipment/supplies; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching; prolonged standing/walking; manual dexterity in using office equipment
Working Conditions: Exposure to crisis or stressful situations, infectious diseases/blood borne pathogens, possible stress from emergency situations and multiple interruptions; subject to irregular hours and unpredictable work situations
Required Protective Equipment: Masks and/or PAPR, gown, sterile and non-sterile gloves, face shield, goggles
