Position title: Technician/Maintenance
Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor
Location: St. Albans, VT

The position also seeks to improve maintenance procedures and manufacturing processes for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture improvements.
SHIFT HOURS
:
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 5:45am - 6:00pm and Wednesday 5:45am - 12:00pm
- Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP and HACCP requirements
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on equipment
- Demonstrate troubleshooting capabilities on control systems, pumps, motors, HMIs, and PLCs on complex process and packaging equipment
- Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks as necessary, including advanced technical work when required
- Ensure personal and equipment safety compliance
- Review documentation for maintenance activity using the maintenance database; communicate maintenance issues to appropriate personnel; utilize the maintenance inventory system
- Train production employees for set-ups and operation of all equipment
- Participate in projects and/or rebuilds
- Ensure food safety and regulatory compliance
- Assist in day-to-day support of operators for adjustments, setups, and changeovers
- High School or vocational school diploma
- Minimum of 5 years’ manufacturing experience (required)
- Food manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Vocational school/Industrial maintenance degree/technical college training; formal apprentice program (preferred)
- Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and schematics (required)
- Ability to analyze situations and make technical decisions based on specifications (required)
- High precision with minimum tolerances (required)
- Ability to work with electrical power safely and responsibly
- Exposure to voltages up to 480V
- Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet with fall protection and PPE
- Ability to lift 75 lbs frequently with mechanical assistance; 50 lbs regularly; 100 lbs occasionally
- Mobility requirements: kneel, squat, bend, stoop; twist, reach overhead; stand for long periods; walk up/down stairs
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures
- Noise level considerations; dexterity; ability to use computer screens for extended periods
