Purpose Of RoleReporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, the Senior Field Engineer will assist the project by running projects to support site. The work environment provides diverse experience working with various professionals from different departments with responsibilities outside and in‑office.
This role will be located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona. Role Accountabilities- Support the senior geotechnical engineer with the feasibility study by critically assessing the technical and financial aspects of the project.
- Independently performs routine work such as collaborating with consultants and contractors, identifying hazards, site inspections and reports, coordinating with staff and consultants.
- Manage site projects and collaborate with various groups to execute successful projects.
- Perform field explorations, collection of samples, geologic reconnaissance, and mapping.
- QA/QC data collected at site.
- Read technical reports and provide summaries of the contents.
- Complete workplace examinations identifying safety hazards.
- Assist with planning for hydrology and geotechnical data acquisition in support of the feasibility study.
- Bachelor of Engineering or Science in Mining, Civil, Geological, Geotechnical, Hydrology or related engineering/science discipline is required. Or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience managing projects, supporting site activities, installing piezometers and borehole testing.
- Proficient with MS Office, related software, and computers.
- Ability to travel to and from sites is required.
- Strong communication and team skills are required.
- Previous experience at a mine site is preferred.
- Experience with monitoring platforms, Mine Plan, Propeller and other related software.

The work environment will necessitate work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions such as hot and/or dry conditions. Work will be conducted in locations where noise, fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration may exist.
Employee will be expected to drive a company vehicle, rental vehicle and/or his/her own vehicle in the course of performing the job, Employee must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet. Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver’s license.
