Key Responsibilities
  • By delegation of the TSE/TPM, specify one or several train functions, and associated sub-system(s) at train level and lead technically the engineering studies to reach the required performances at train level.
  • Provide traction and energy for auxiliaries.
  • Control – monitor – diagnostic.
  • Integrate the train in the system.
  • Perform the transverse requirement allocations to the various subsystems in close collaboration with the relevant specialists.
  • Perform requirement development, coming from reference and applicable documents from Metiers, Standards, Certification, Safety, Platform and Customer.
  • Define the Train System architecture, operational modes and functionalities taking as input the external/internal requirements.
  • Perform train system FMECA in coordination with RAMS team.
  • Ensure consistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems specifications.
  • Write sub-system specification and architecture description in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders according to train level architecture.
  • For non-catalog components:
    • Write the Technical Purchasing Specification when needed.
    • Manage technical contact until design has been frozen.
    • Drive technical relationships with suppliers with close management of QCD commitments, risks & validation (including Design Reviews with suppliers).
  • Support TSE to define applicable train configuration.
  • Ensure coordination between stakeholders on interfaces, performances, technical issues resolution during detailed design phase.
  • On TSE/TPM request, participate in technical meetings with customer to provide support.
  • Manage/lead component deliveries and development with external/internal suppliers.
  • Define and perform Train verification strategy in close collaboration with all stakeholders.
  • Write the train level test specifications.
  • Ensure the train integration and tuning.
  • Technical open issues resolution on TSE request, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure.
  • Perform reporting at project level (to TSE, via KPI) and metier level (via weekly reports).
  • Support TSE for implementation and update of Engineering risks mitigation plan, change order process and QCD optimisation.
  • Provide Return of experience to be implemented in Reference Solutions.
Required Profile
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, or other relevant diploma.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in the railway field.
  • Very good knowledge of requirements management and change management, mandatory.
  • Good knowledge in systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of DOORS software, an asset.
  • Fluent French & English mandatory.
  • Some travel is to be expected on an occasional basis to other Alstom sites or to customers.
