This role supports patient-centered clinical services in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment. The position works collaboratively with providers and clinic staff to deliver high-quality care and ensure a positive patient experience.
The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) is a key member of the clinical care team, responsible for supporting daily clinic operations, assisting with patient care activities, and contributing to a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment.
Key Job Duties
- Administer vaccinations and injections, including but not limited to influenza, COVID-19, and TB test placements
- Obtain and accurately record vital signs
- Assist with emergency care in collaboration with the on-site provider during emergent situations
- Perform patient registration, intake, and checkout processes
- Support waiting room management and patient flow
- Conduct patient reminder calls, outreach calls, and appointment scheduling
- Serve as a chaperone for sensitive examinations when required
- Prepare and maintain clinic and waiting areas to ensure an optimal patient experience
- Document care and activities accurately within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Provide patient-focused interactions aligned with community health goals
Experience Required
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience in a healthcare setting
- Prior experience administering immunizations and injections
- Experience providing evidence-based vaccine counseling and patient education
- Ability to obtain and document vital signs
- Experience documenting in an EMR system (EPIC preferred)
