Alterations Customer Service Representative

- Welcome customers with enthusiasm via phone, chat, and in-person; adapt communication style to resolve conflict.
- Use all systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five‑star experience.
- Meet service vows – prepare, welcome, meet needs, and be present, addressing emotional and practical needs.
- Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously, contributing to store achievement of five‑star service.
- Proactively address concerns and partner with the leadership team.
- Explain how alterations enhance dresses in partnership with the Alterations team.
- Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
- Maintain store standards (clean, organized, promotional readiness, store recovery).
- Greet and escort all alteration customers to and from appointments.
- Press, steam, and spot clean all merchandise.
- Follow quality control guidelines and inspect all garments before final delivery.
- Build long‑term relationships to exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Support inventory management by processing special orders, pickups, and first‑quality standards.
- Support cash wrap behaviors and process transactions accurately.
- Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager when issues cannot be resolved.
- Maintain a clean and well‑organized alterations room.
- Perform duties and tasks as assigned by store management.
- Stand, walk, sit for extended periods; reach for tools; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift or move up to 10 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to use POS terminals, count money, steam garments, and perform fittings.
- Visual acuity for close, distant, peripheral vision, and depth perception; use computer and phones for long periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store.
- Prior sewing experience helpful.
- Experience with computer POS system.
