This RN position is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient before and during a surgical procedure, ensuring patient safety, and providing leadership to the OR team. The RN outlines individual care plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care during surgical procedures and communicates with the patient, family, and OR staff.

• Assess the needs of the surgical patient and develop a patient‑specific plan of care.
• Implement and evaluate the plan during the procedure, adjusting as required to maintain patient safety.
• Supervise activity in the operating room, coordinate schedule changes, assemble equipment, assist anesthesia, and monitor the sterile field.
• Communicate with the patient, family, physician, OR team, supervisor/manager, and ancillary departments.
• Participate in staff development by attending in‑services, educational meetings, and staff meetings.

• Registered Nurse license; BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year peri‑operative RN experience; preferred 2 years critical or emergency unit experience.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills to direct a group and communicate with all levels.
• Knowledge of normal pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative routine.
• Ability to interpret clinical information and document in a clear and concise manner.

Exposure to stressful and trauma situations; ability to wear personal protective equipment and move freely throughout the facility. Requires frequent standing, walking, and long periods of sitting or standing. Must lift up to 21–50 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. frequently.
