Job Details:

• Assess surgical patient needs and develop individualized care plans before and during procedures

• Implement and evaluate care plans during surgical procedures while maintaining patient safety as priority

• Supervise operating room activity and coordinate schedule changes as needed

• Assemble equipment and supplies for surgical procedures

• Assist anesthesia personnel as necessary and monitor sterile field integrity

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, OR team, supervisors, and ancillary departments

• Provide leadership to the operating room team during procedures

• Participate in staff development through preceptorship and continuing education

• Attend in-services, educational meetings, staff meetings, and professional development seminars

• At least 2 years of RN OR experience required

• Level 2 Trauma Experience required

• Must be proficient in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, Gen/Gyn, and Urology procedures

• Recent travel work experience highly preferred

• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required

• Active Michigan nursing license required with LARA and/or Nursys verification

• Skills checklist current within 1 year for Operating Room specialty required

• Two supervisory reference forms completed within last two years required

• No on-call or weekend requirements unless shift falls on a holiday

• All scheduling requests must be made at time of submission
