RN, RN Nurse, Healthcare Nursing

This position is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient before and during a surgical procedure, and maintaining patient safety. The RN outlines individual care plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care of the patient during surgical procedures. Provides leadership to the operating room team and communicates effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.

• Assess the needs of the surgical patient and develop a specific plan of care. Implement and evaluate the plan during the procedure, making necessary adjustments while prioritizing patient safety.
• Supervise activity in the operating room, anticipate and coordinate any schedule changes. Assemble equipment and supplies, assist anesthesia as necessary, and monitor the sterile field.
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians, the OR team, supervisors, managers, and ancillary departments.
• Participate in staff development through attending in-services, educational meetings, and seminars for education and leadership growth opportunities.

• At least 2 years of RN Operating Room experience.
• Proficiency in Orthopedics, Vascular, Neuro, General/Gynecology, and Urology.
• Recent travel experience is highly preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
