Overview
This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that direct ship supplies and inventory supplies are distributed in a timely manner throughout the Health System. This involves managing the supply flow of the storeroom inventory items by receiving stock from vendors, restocking the shelves, picking orders, delivering supplies, clean linen operations, managing supply carts, equipment distribution, and maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly environment.
Responsibilities- Support the work of material handlers, order fulfillment and receiving personnel with stocking, organizing receipts, and cycle counts as required and directed by the manager. Includes handling expired inventory, standard storage tasks (labels, bin organization, returns, etc.), communication for PAR levels, out of stocks, recalls, nursing feedback from customer service tasks while working on units, customer service for clinical needs, and process improvements when leadership directs for next level operational excellence achievements.
- Complete supply requisition by removing from inventory those items requested, packaging the order, staging for delivery.
- Maintain a neat, clean and orderly storeroom, receiving area, and outside dock area. Ensure proper rotation of stock.
- Other duties and responsibilities:
Maintain equipment as required, such as charging the electric pallet jack. - Distribute/deliver stock and non-stock orders throughout the Medical Center and MOBs, including driving a My Michigan vehicle and being insured to operate a My Michigan vehicle.
- Check in/receive stock and items within the Materials Information System; may relieve as Supply Clerk II as needed.
- In performance of regular job duties, access to the medication room and supply room for stocking purposes may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Credential: Driver's License (DRIVERSLIC). Must have a valid Michigan driver's license and be eligible to drive a Mid Michigan Health vehicle.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (

HIGH).
Education Specialization:
GENSTUDY. Essential: true. - Experience, Training and Skills: Ability to lift/handle heavy objects, stay on feet for long periods, and perform physical labor as required. Good customer service skills. Mandatory OSHA training must be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
- Exposure to stressful situations, including public contact, and exposure to trauma, grief, and death. May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and latex alternatives if required.
- Ability to move freely about the facility with or without assisted devices; must be able to perform job duties as outlined. Vision and hearing requirements apply with or without assistive devices.
- Frequently sit/stand/walk; may require stooping, kneeling or crouching. Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials; follow blood borne pathogen and TB testing requirements as applicable.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, maintain regular attendance, and stay awake. Adequate dexterity for handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling; movements may be repetitive.
- Physical Demand Level: Medium. Lifting/carrying up to 21-50 lbs occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs continuously; frequent walking/standing and push/pull requirements.
