R&D Manager of Technology & Automation

GNR has been retained to identify an R&D Manager of Technology & Automation for a well-established, internationally known, 50+ year-old advanced materials organization.

You will work with some of the brightest engineers to create the most advanced measurement technologies & systems on the planet!

We need a “Hands-on Leader” for this highly technical engineering team in the R&D development of automation manufacturing solutions for material handling, grinding, sizing, packaging etc

• You would be responsible for mentoring & leading a team of 10+ engineers and scientists working on multiple projects to solve complex equipment needs
• Collaborate with production resources to understand problems areas and improve in-house manufacturing processes to drive improvements in capacity, cost, quality etc.
• Partner with equipment manufacturers on creating solutions – while working closely with in-house engineers
• Collaborate with leadership team to understand short / long-term business to create a 5 year roadmap for equipment and technologies.

• 10+ years of experience developing and implementing new technologies & automation to improve manufacturing process & quality
• Design and integrate machine & automation systems into a production line environment
• Analyzing processes to improve efficiency, reducing downtime, and fixing equipment malfunctions.
• Implement and maintain continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality
• Experience managing a team of engineers & scientists in the selection or custom design of equipment
• BS / MS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or Scientific related field.
