Eye Care Specialists of Michigan is a well-established medical and surgical ophthalmology and optometry practice dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered eye care. Our practice specializes in cataract surgery, glaucoma management, diabetic eye disease, and general eye care, supported by a full-service optical department and state-of-the-art diagnostic technology.

Position Overview

The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye care services, manage ocular disease, and participate in pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients. This role is ideal for an optometrist who values clinical excellence, teamwork, and long-term patient relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations
  • Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care in collaboration with ophthalmology
  • Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and therapeutic treatments
  • Accurately document care in the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term eye health
  • Collaborate closely with technicians, optical staff, and physicians to ensure high-quality patient care
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school
  • Licensed or board-eligible in the state of Michigan
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Interest in medical optometry and surgical co-management
  • Prior medical or clinical experience preferred but not required
